I was really looking forward to The End of Oak Street, but unfortunately I missed it at the cinema. And boy, am I glad I did. This is the most boring snoozefest of 2026 so far. The trailer made it look like a fun family sci-fi flick, but it’s anything but.

The actors didn’t seem to be having much fun filming it, and it was clear they didn’t buy into the script. The family dynamics didn’t work either. I couldn’t even make it to the halfway point before pressing the back button on the remote and asking my partner, “Why did we think we’d like this?”

The trailer probably contained the best parts of the movie, but even those weren’t enough to save it. Thankfully, I’m rewatching The Expanse, so I was able to put on an episode as a much-needed palate cleanser.
